GMW Event Sydney
Thank you to @gmwnetwork for inviting me to speak on the “Storytelling with Purpose” panel with the brilliant @guzeme💞
Grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts on the power of storytelling and how our voices, when used with intention, can inspire change, challenge narratives, and leave a lasting impact on the world around us 🌎

Meeting Gazans
Today, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting some very special children who have recently arrived in Australia from Gaza. They were beautiful, kind, and incredibly funny.A heartwarming surprise was discovering that some of the kids had already heard about me and had read my books when they were first published over a year ago! Little Aseel even reminded me of all the changes I made between the first and second release of “Never Forget Omar”. Moments like these remind me why I write… to share, to educate and to honour the voices of our children ❤️🩹

High Distinction grade on thesis!
Amira was awarded a High Distinction grade for my Master’s by Philosophy thesis.
Over the past two years, Amira has been working on my Master’s by Philosophy Degree, combining business, entrepreneurship, mental health, and psychology.
Amira's research focused on how poor mental health among self-employed individuals impacts the profitability and income of their businesses. She also examined and analysed strategies that can be implemented to improve business outcomes and resilience, such as mental health applications, physical activity and social support initiatives (among others).

Speaking at Amnesty International Human Rights Awards
Amira was asked by Amnesty International Australia to give the first ever Amnesty International Human Rights Defender Award to Bisan Owda 🏆
Bisan is a 26 year old that has put her life on the line in order to show the world the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. Bisan has spent the last 430+ days advocating for the Palestinian people and land through her human rights reporting. Congratulations Bisan, and to all the recipients, your courage and work has not gone unnoticed.
